What Every Prospect Asks on a Sales Call, and Our Actual Answers

I've been on a lot of sales calls, and after a while you notice the same questions come up almost every time. That makes sense, since anyone managing internet for dozens or hundreds of locations has probably been burned before, and they want to know if this time will be different.

Here are the questions I hear most often whenever I talk about broadband aggregation with prospective clients, along with the answers I give.

Can You Cover All of Our Locations, Even the Rural Ones?

Yes. A lot of providers are great in major metro markets and then struggle once you get outside of them. We service Tier 1 markets and rural areas, and we look at each location on its own to find the right option for that site. Your small-town store shouldn't get a worse answer than your downtown office.

How Long Is Installation Going To Take?

Our average broadband installation time is around 20 days. Every site is different, but that's the number we're working with – and we'll tell you up front if a location looks like it'll take longer.

What Happens When Something Goes Down?

Broadband is a best-effort service, which means there's no guaranteed repair window. Even so, our time to repair on broadband has been running under 8 hours for years, including dispatch to the site whenever it's needed.

One of the complaints I hear most from prospects is that their current provider moved its NOC overseas, and they feel it every time something breaks. When you call us, you're talking to people here in the U.S. We're a U.S. based company from start to finish, including our post-install teams.

TailWind’s time to repair on broadband has run under 8 hours for years.

Do We Have To Spend a Certain Amount To Get Real Support?

No. Many providers reserve dedicated support for their biggest accounts, and everyone else goes into a queue. We handle every account with white-glove service, from onboarding through installation and into billing support after the fact, so you get a dedicated project manager regardless of spend.

What Fees Will Appear on My Bill?

Only the ones the government requires. We don't add fees or surcharges to pad our margins. Our quotes are accurate, and the only added charges are government charges that we pass straight through. If you've ever opened a telecom bill and found a list of line items nobody explained, you know why this question comes up.

How Do We Know This Will Actually Work?

We'll show you. A lot of the business we win away from other providers starts with a proof of concept. We take a handful of sites, run them through our process from quoting to provisioning to repair, and let the results speak for themselves. Clients feel the difference pretty quickly.

Have a Question We Didn’t Cover?

Every one of these questions is really a prospect asking if we'll be any different from the provider that let them down last time. They want to know we'll answer the phone, stand behind our numbers, handle the install without drama, and treat their account like it matters.

That's a fair thing to want, and it's the reason we built TailWind the way we did. Being a boutique aggregator lets us put the client first at every step, from the first quote through installation and long after the circuit goes live.

If you've got questions that aren't on this list, I'd love to hear them. Reach out to TailWind and let's talk.
